    Jun 6 to 8, 2008 - SVT 15th Anniversary Reunion @ Carlisle All-Ford Nationals

SVT 15th Anniversary Reunion @ Carlisle All-Ford Nationals

    Friday, June 6 / Saturday, June 7 / Sunday, June 8, 2008 / Carlisle (PA) Fairgrounds
It has now been 15 years since the Ford Special Vehicle Team entered the new car market, so to commemorate a great decade-and-a-half of SVT-badged high-performance Fords, the SVT Owners Association is teaming with Carlisle Productions and Ford Motor Company to host an SVT 15th Anniversary Reunion at the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA, on June 6th, 7th and 8th. The SVTOA is calling all SVT vehicle owners to join club members in a special display area to include every SVT vehicle -- from SVT Mustang Cobras and GT500s to SVT F-150 Lightnings, plus the SVT Contour and SVT Focus -- even the SVT-engineered Ford GT supercar!

Register your SVT vehicle and be a part of a large national gathering of SVTs from around the country! The cars will be assigned to various classes of stock and modified and participant balloting will determine First, Second and Third place for each class. Awards will be given to class winners and other selected awards will be a part of this event. What's more, the SVTOA will have special giveaways all weekend, and has invited some key past and present SVT engineers and program managers to meet for a Q & A session that you won't want to miss.
So join the SVTOA and its members in celebrating the longest-running, best-selling, most successful niche performance vehicle program in Ford's 100-plus year history and show your Ford SVT vehicle at Carlisle 2008! Registration is $40.00 in advance and will be available at the event, but note that all registration fees will increase $10 after May 19, 2008, so save by registering early. Plus, attendees who pre-register are eligible to receive a $5 coupon toward the purchase of Official Carlisle Events Apparel – including 2008 All-Ford Nationals merchandise. (Coupons will be issued at the show when you pick up your show field credentials.) The All-Ford Nationals is among the biggest and best Ford gatherings on the planet, with a massive show field, huge aftermarket parts & accessories manufacturers' midway, plus hundreds of other vendors with a variety of parts and accessories for sale. There are also hundreds of Ford & Lincoln-Mercury vehicles for sale in the corral, special events like beauty & burnout contests, plus rock crawling, a great food court and much, much more. Don't miss it!

Sweet! I'll be there. Hopefully there will be enough of a showing that Ford might rethink its abandonment of the SVT brand... just some wishful thinking.

Will we be parking in a special area or with every one else?
This has been a problem in the past.

Ditto. Carlisle usually tries to put the cars by class not by "club." We've just parked wherever before, but other guys that want to be judged in class get a bit upset about that.

I'll be there. And I'd always rather park with a group than in a class.
    Even with you, Tim.

I spoke to Toni at Carlisle today and my understanding is that SVT Reunion will be a show within the show like the Boss reunion and Mach gathering in past years. When you register, register for the SVT Reunion, not the showfield.
I hope I get to park next to Tim and not Greg C.!

That sounds good, I just hope we don't get shoved outside the front gate!

And Greg - what makes you think I'd WANT your car near mine??? All this hostility just because you were the only one who knew where the hospital was!!!

I'm going to try to make it up for the Saturday. I still need to get my car inspected for road use in VA.

We've tried a few times to plan something for Fri &/or Sat night. Could this be the year?

***NEED A SVTF and SVTC FOR DISPLAY @ CARLISLE!***

    Hi everyone!
I hope to see lots of you at the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals in a few weeks!
As you may have heard, we are organizing a SVT 15th anniversary reunion at Carlisle this year and have been given a dedicated area on the showfield just for SVT-powered vehicles and as a bonus - an entire building to feature a display of SVT vehicles representing each incarnation the Cobra, Lightning, Contour & Focus. While I have been able to fill most of the slots through my local contacts, I'm having a hard time finding a (mostly stock) SVT Contour and Focus for the display.
If you are interested, here are the details: The car will have to be placed in the building Wednesday or early Thursday before the show and cannot be removed from the building until the show is over on Sunday. Of course cars will be roped off for security. We will also be holding a special meet & greet session with SVT engineers in the same building, so you can possibly have the chance to have your car signed by one of the actual engineers who developed your car!
So if you want you car to be the representative for its generation at the SVT 15th Anniversary, please email me! m@t5design.com

***ALSO - ANY SVT-powered vehicle is invited to our area of the showfield, all the show classes for Cobras, Lightnings, Contours, Foci and Ford GT will be in the same area, instead of scattered all over the massive showfield. Just tell the registration staff that your car is an SVT and come on over!***

    Thanks!
    ~Marcie

Thanks for jumping in, Marcie. Tim (Lancaster), Herb (Delaware Valley) and myself (through our respective chapters) have tried to carry on an SVTOA presence at Carlisle since 2003, handing out info and signing up members. Looks like it may be back.

    These are from 2003.

It was easier with the trailer there.

    Greg, Marcie:

A few of our members will also be there from SVTOA-Toronto. I'll be there with my Wannabe, along with Iain. I will probably be parked with the other Foci, but I will definitely drop by!
