For my Birthday my loving wife gave me a Magnaflow exhaust. Oh the smile on my face waiting to install it in the spring. I went on their web site to hear the sound bite and was dreaming of the day I could hear it on my own car. Well last night I cut off the stock exhaust because it was time to replace it. I am a firm believer of repair it when it needs it. I pieced all the part together and started to tighten up the clamps. One of the nuts seemed a bit tight on the thread but thought nothing of it until it sheared. Hey it happens I thought and massaged it to salvage the clamp. At 10 o'clock at night there isn't a part store open to get another clamp. So now I have all the pieces where they need to be and tightened all the clamps, leaving the polished tips for last. I go to install the hanger to the polished tips and was amazed that I had to cut the rods and reshape it to fit properly. You would think by now they would have all the issues ironed out of a exhaust for a car that is six years old. Well my story continues with only the two clamps left to adjust and tighten the polished tips, making sure that the Magnaflow text is straight I run into another problem the clamps don't hold. I tightened the clamps until I bottomed out the bolts and I can still pull the tips off???
Are these normal problems or did I get a lemon Magnaflow???
Any solutions to tighten on the tips???
I was thinking muffler cement.

Why did you have to cut your exhaust?
